Monitor Ghosting

June 17, 2002
Quick Tip
By JasonV.com

Sometimes a monitor may display a ghosted image. Before returning the monitor as a defect, check the cable that connects the monitor to the computer. The cable should be about 1/4" in diameter. This means that each wire inside is shielded to prevent ghosting. If the wire is 1/8" inch there is a strong chance that the wire is unshielded. This is almost certainly the cause of the ghosting. Replace the cable and the ghosting should stop.
